Sunday was a day to recover. A day to reflect and a day to process. We spent most of our time at home doing things together like reading, coloring and setting up picnics all over the house. I didn’t cook (yes, sometimes even I need a break from the kitchen!) It was a good day to reset because my dragon needed to be tamed. Owing to this blasted cold, self-control had been utterly painful to master.
Now it is Monday and everything seems fresher, more magical. My kids are sweeter and I am excited to get cooking again. My two-tone scarf is nearly finished and the dress I must squeeze into in a month’s time is halfway altered.
It is so important to have those days. Spend them with your kids and forget your expectations for a while. Just soak in the moment and live fully right here and now.
