This morning it was hot apple sandwiches, which are basically homemade apple pie filling on buttered toast. I would feel ridiculously guilty eating apple pie for breakfast, but somehow by trading the crust for toast, I can fully justify this sweet morning delight!
Peel, core and thinly slice two granny smith apples
melt 2 Tbsp butter in a skillet and then add the apples
Sprinkle with 1 1/2 to 2 Tbsp brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon
Cook until apples are soft and covered in caramel
Serve over buttered toast and enjoy!
